Story

My name is Jeanne Heinrich and Special Olympics holds a very "special" place in my heart.  I became involved with Special Olympics about 5 or 6 years ago, when my son actively started to participate in some of the sporting events like bowling.  Reid, now 18, has participated in bowling, track and field, and basketball at the local, regional, super-regional and state levels, as well as Unified Basketball the last two years in high school.

Reid has down syndrome and he and his friends in Special Olympics deal with their intellectual disabilities each and every day.  But through the efforts and activities of Special Olympics organiations all over the world, people like Reid and his friends, have the opportunity to find their voice and to be a part of activities and sports that we all take for granted.

So through this challenge in Ecuador, I hope to raise the much needed funding to support the efforts of Special Olympics and to sponsor at least three athletes for an entire year.  Please join me on the journey of making a difference in peoples lives.  Together we can achieve so much.....lets watch how our support will have a ripple effect throughout the world.

Thank you for your support.....  :-)
