A little bit about myself...

Hi, I'm Jayne and for as long as I can remember, I've been petrified of open water! Yes this event is a 1 mile swim in Lake Windermere, in a wet suite (just getting into that's gunna be fun haha)...

Who knows what lurks beneath those waters!!! Seriously, this terrifies me...

I made the decision to take this challenge because I've been avoiding facing my fears for nearly 3 years as huge challenges arose in my life... I had to do something big to force my mindset to change and this is it. Who knows where it will end....my challenges I mean.  To be honest to just finish the swim under my own steam would be amazing :)

My brother-in-law was in a serious cycling accident whilst visiting lake Windermere in 2017. If it wasn't for the Great North Air Ambulance (amongst other medical teams) he may not have been with us today.

So to show our appreciation, me and my sister are doing the open water swim together.  All monies raised from my sponsorship will go towards helping others in need of this amazing charity, it's the least I can do.
