Fundraising event i'm doing #1: SKYDIVING!
Hello! My name is Jaymz Goodman, I was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in July / August of last year (2015).
With the help of the team of specialist research nurses and haematology doctors at the Centre for Clinical Haematology, located at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, I was placed on a chemotherapy trial known as UK-ALL 2011. A specialist research nurse funded by Cure Leukaemia, including haematology doctors, organised my course of chemotherapy. Because of this and the amazing care I received, I was fortunate enough to see a full remission from my cancer in late 2015!
Cure Leukaemia want to raise £3,000,000 to get the go ahead with the construction of a specialist blood cancer unit above the Centre for Clinical Haematology, and the renovation of already existing areas within the centre too. This will provide access to much more specific and vital treatment for people with blood cancers. It will also allow the essential funding of many more specialist research nurses which, in turn, will pave the way for more world first clinical trials, aiming towards the best treatment that can be given and the best drugs possible to be administered to patients with blood cancers.
My journey was an incredible roller-coaster of highs and lows, and left me with a heightened passion for helping others, and giving back in whatever way i can!
This page is a place to donate for all who want to be a part of something amazing, to be an advocate for Cure Leukaemia, a less well known charity that does such amazing work that needs more recognition. Every donation goes towards bettering the treatment of all patients with blood cancers, like myself, hoping to eradicate cancer once and for all.
I will be using this just giving page for all of my charity fundraising over the coming months / years!
Thank you for reading!
