In Palestine, 1.3 million people do not have access to or cannot afford nutritious food. This is approximately 22.5 % of the population. Food insecurity affects families headed by women more, accounting for approximately 36%, as opposed to the 21% of families headed by men that are food insecure. These statistics are even higher in the Gaza Strip, where 39% of families are food insecure.
