Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was first diagnosed with sarcoma in1993 but the small lump was totally removed and I was given the all clear and managed to forget all about it for many years. Unfortunately it reoccurred in my lung in June 2007, and despite 5 operations, chemo and radiotherapy, it has kept reoccurring and is now back to stay. However, as I write this, I have just started another course of radiotherapy which I hope will control my disease for a while and give me some precious time with my lovely family and friends.
I decided to raise money for Sarcoma UK during this year as it is the year of my 50th birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary, and back in 2007 my goal was to get to this year. Now I've done it, and with the help of Sarcoma UK's research into new drugs and treatments, I'm setting another goal of being here for at least another 2 years, so look out everyone!
Sarcoma UK is the main charity in the UK dealing with all types of sarcoma. It funds scientific and medical research into causes and treatments, delivers support and information and raises awareness of the disease. As sarcoma is such a rare cancer, it needs it's own research programme to find ways to save or extend lives affected by it.
