Janay's Rosie May Fundraising page

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have created this page to raise money for the Rosie May Memorial fund, a UK based charity which was founded in memory of a 10 year old girl called Rosie May who was brutally murdered in 2003.
In December 2004 the family decided Christmas at home would be unbearable without their daughter Rosie May, who loved this time of year. So they decided to travel to Sri Lanka for Christmas, to escape the horrific recollections of the year before. Yet sadly experienced a tragedy for a second time, the tsunami but were lucky enough to escape.
Shortly after the Tsunami the family built the Rosie May Home, in hope to support and care for girls who were affected by this disaster. Providing them with shelter and teaching them new skills, that can enable them to live independently. The aim of this was to give the girls the future that Rosie May was unable to have.
I will be volunteering in Sri Lanka this summer, in the Rosie May Home. I will be taking part in numerous activities, in hope of creating a positive impact on the girls lives, assisting with English language lessons, drama workshops and other life long beneficial skills.
My fundraising target is £500, which I hope to achieve through numerous fundraising events. My main event will be a 10k run. I would be extremely grateful if you could kindly donate as much as you can. All the donations will be given directly to 'The Rosie May Memorial Charity Fund'.
