I am 18 years old and studying for my A levels in Upper Sixth, Methodist College, Belfast

My grandmother, a lifelong non smoker, rapidly succumbed to lung cancer three years ago. I want to help raise funds to search for solutions to this terrible disease

In June I was given the opportunity of raising money for Action Cancer by running in the 2009 New York Marathon

Despite a busy schedule I resolved to complete this immense challenge and hope my effort could benefit a most deserving cause

My parents have stumped up £500 which covered travel and accomodation, all subsequent donations go directly to Action Cancer

On Sunday 1st November 2009 I completed the New York Marathon in 4 hours 13 minutes
