Story
On the 16th of June the British army lost one of their finest soldiers while on operations in Afganistan. Cpl Lloyd Newell. A proud father, husband brother and son.
In a small gesture to Lloyd and the exceptional efforts of all our armed forces myself and 7 other equally determined people, Karl Rushen, John Middleton, Garf Stock, Jono Twohey, Kieron Browne, Paul Cole and Craig Ford are all training to compete in the Para'10 P Company challenge which takes place on September 9th 2012. The Parachute Regiment is a challenge where you to attempt the 10 Mile 'P' Company Cross Country Route, carrying a bergen weighing 35lb (excluding food water) and wearing long trousers with ‘military style’ boots.
As most of you know I have I have a long standing connection with the military, my time at Lympstone with the Royal Marines Commandos , my brother who served for 13 years in the army, my brother inlaw is still currently serving and my father was in the Navy and now a commissioned officer in the ACF, who was until recently the Detachment commander for Witham which is where LLoyd first found his love for the Army as an Army Cadet.
It will be an honour to put myself through the arduous task of training for this event and im sure you will all take great pleasure in knowing I will be in some form of discomfort for the best part of the next 11 months! It will be worth it.
I am asking all my friends, family, strangers and pretty much anyone that will listen to sponser myself and the lads to help us raise money for Help for Heroes, The Parachute Regiment charity and also for Ella Mae, Lloyds baby daughter.
Thank you for visiting my page and thankyou for your donations.
