Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
From the 29th October to the 7th November this year I will be riding a Royal Enfield Bullet on a 1300 km trek through the foothills of the Himalayas. Starting in Amritsar and ending 7 days later in Delhi, some of the riding will be off road and quite challenging but I'm sure the saddle sores will be well worth it.
Cornwall has the highest incedence of Multiple Sclerosis of any mainland county, as yet there is no cure but many therapys, as those offered by The Merlin Centre can achieve pain relief and a better quality of life. This effect is already well proven by many of the centre's current clients. There are many more requring the help that can be given.
The bike I will be riding for the challenge will be A Royal Enfield Bullet 500cc Single cylinder of late 60's pattern, which is still being built today in India. Very different to the fire breathing ZX10R Kawasaki i ride at the moment. The right foot gearchange, drum brakes and kick start are going to take a little adjusting to.
I run a small car body repair business in Padstow, Cornwall, and one of my customers asked me if I would be prepared to take on this challenge. As you can imagine, it didn't take much thinking about before I agreed to do it. After all, it promises to be the adventure of a lifetime and also raise vital funds for a very worthwhile cause.
