Cindy Beeny Fund for Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre, 30 August 2015

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are participating in a skydive on August the 30th 2015 for Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre in Haywards Heath.

My mother Cindy Beeney was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma in 2013. An acoustic neuroma is a rare growth in the brain which effects 13 people in every 1 million every single year. The tumour grows on a nerve in the brain near the ear. It is a benign tumour which causes problems with hearing and balance, and also ringing in the ears. My mother underwent thirteen hours of major surgery at Hurstwood Park to remove the tumour from her brain in May 2014. A year later she is now fully recovered with great thanks to all the surgeons, doctors, staff nurses and all other members of the multi disciplinary team. She is now coping with everyday life and has been fitted with a bone anchored hearing aid to help with her with the hearing she lost during surgery.

Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre has become one of the leading centres of brain treatment in the country, and is the only operating hospital in he whole of South East England. The centre not only deals with brain tumours, aneurisms, strokes and of course injure from road traffic accidents, but also illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, and all other problems to the brain.

I would like to thank Hurstwood Park Neurologicial Centre by raising as much money as possible. All monies raised will help the centre to purchase equipment and to improve their facilities.

For those of you who know my mum and I,will know how much this means to us. Every penny counts, so if you could please donate we will be very thankful, and if it means throwing myself out of an aeroplane than so be it.

Thank you.
