Story
On the August 18th at 6.30am I will embark on a three day cycle from London to Paris, cycling on average 100 miles per day through small towns, villages and mostly magnificent countryside until finally arriving in Paris. I am doing this not only selfishly for a sense of personal physical achievement but to also raise money for a charity that really does give everything back to the people of which it supports.
Veterans aid has been around for almost 80 years and represents everything that a charity is all about, supporting those who need help during times of crises, homeless or likely to become homeless. Whilst the name portrays a picture of helping ex servicemen, woman and their families, the ultimate aim is to get people back on track and hopefully leading a stable life. They will try their best to help those that need it; they are at the real end of charity work, working in modest leveling offices, dressed as normal people not as corporate executives like those that work for the better known charities.
I believe that this is a great charity and I know that YOUR donation will not be spent on expenses or the managements next pay rise, it will go to the people who need it the most. It will pay for anything from housing, medical help, rehabilitation to a warm meal a bath and some clean clothes.
