A massive thank you from the Jack Birch Unit.

This letter is to thank everyone who donated towards our York 10k run in support of York Against Cancer.

The whole event had a brilliant turn out and the weather was just perfect. The crowds spurred us on throughout the course, especially those York Against Cancer supporters (the sight of Betty and Ken at 5km sped everyone up). A group of us even made it into the centre pages of the York Press newspaper. We looked surprisingly happy dressed in bright green York Against Cancer t-shirts..... it was only 300 yards after the start though and a later photo would have told a different story!

The runners from the Jack Birch Unit all had a fantastic morning despite the distance which had to be run. The finish times ranged from 55 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes, so everyone made it in great time.

So far, we have raised £1,328 which we know will go towards making a big difference. We just want to say a huge thank you again to everyone for their support. Who knows, you may even get another request next year – or perhaps you would like to join us!
