Story
Jane and I will be cycling from London Marble Arch to The Arc de Triomphe in Paris this June as part of a team that is helping to raise awareness of Kidney Cancer for the James Whale Fund. As a Kidney cancer survivor I have a strong personal interest in this.
It promises to be a great event and we're really looking forward to it. Anyone who wants to join in then please let me know. For more information try these web-sites:

I was lucky in that my Kidney Cancer was caught early enough and treated by removing the offending Kidney and a few other bits and bobs that they found lying around, and for me, with any luck that should be it. Others aren't so lucky.
Every year around 3700 people die of this disease in the UK and about 7000 are diagnosed. Kidney Cancer is the 8th most prevelant cancer and yet little is known about it and it is treated as a rarer cancer. We are seeking to change this by raising awareness and allerting people to the symptoms and encouraging them to see their doctors.
Over the last 10 years there has been a 22% increase in the number of diagnosed cases. Worryingly, over one in ten (11%) people who have experienced blood in their urine, an early symptom of kidney cancer, have not had it checked out by a medical professional. Early diagnosis is the key to successful treatment!
The training starts now ..... we're both doing a little jaunt to Sweden in March next year to do a 90km Cross Country Ski race which should get the aerobic side up and most weekends we're out on the bikes getting used to long distances.
We know times are hard at the moment but please donate as much as you are able.
