Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The Highland Cross has donated more than £3.6 million to charities across the north of Scotland since the original 'Midsummer Madathon' in 1983. The beneficiaries are selected by an independent charity selection panel and donations fall into three main categories - buildings, equipment and transport.

This year's selected charities are Beauly and District Care Project, Blythswood Care, Cheshire House Inverness, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, Shopmobility Highland and Skye & Lochalsh Young Carers. For more information on these, please visit the Highland Cross website.

Last year I took part in my first Highland Cross and completed the 50-mile coast-to-coast duathlon in five-and-a-half hours. I'd be delighted to repeat that effort this year although it's always nice if you can shave a bit of time off!
