Story
Good people of Her Majesty's Empire,
I, James Brittain, am a lazy bugger. There is no other way of saying it. Especially when it comes to fitness. I'll be honest, I don't know the difference between a Protein Shake and a bargain bucket.
But on the 9th November, I will defy every fibre in my body, and run 11km in the Run2Remember for the Royal British Legion, as part of a group of my wonderful, harder working and more athletic colleagues at Tangible:UK.
They are all much better than me, and will surely leave me eating their dust by the first corner, but they do not need to find out about that! Together, we can mask my mediocrity behind a massive amount of money that I'm looking to raise! Then nobody will care that I look like a goose that's choking when I run, nor will they mind when I finish last and embarrass the entire company in a very public way!
So if the idea of seeing me red faced, breathless, defeated and humiliated is one which gets your seal of approval, please donate and help the servicemen and women who give so much to our country every day. With your generous donation coupled up to my pathetic attempt at a run, together, we can make a big difference.
I'll be keeping you all updated about it via my Facebook, Twitter and Blog.
The Royal British Legion will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the declaration of World War 1 in 2014, so make sure you sign up to hear about the great work they're doing in the next 12 months!
The Legion work all year around to help veterans from all conflicts that all British forces have been involved in, and November is their most important month as Armistice Day fast approaches us. Please wear your Poppy with pride to remember the great men and women who serve this country, and protect those you hold dearest.
Thanks, JB
