Hi, I don't think i know anyone who hasn't been touched by some form of Cancer, either directly or through a friend or relative.
One of my brothers, John, lost his battle in Nov 2010 when a brain tumor developed for the third time and unfortunately his previous treatments had left the man we all called "Big Fella" too weak to overcome it.
Prior to that my Mum had beaten the Big C in 2004/05 and Dad had a run in with it in 1985 and won, both i'm glad to say are still with us and living life to the full.
Losing John hurt all of the people who knew him. We, my brothers and I along with some close friends are cycling to raise funds for Cancer Research so sometime in the future the treatments available may mean fewer people have to endure the sadness we feel because The Big Fella was taken from us.
