Back from my 70Km trek! What an amazing inspiring experience it has been and tough - my blisters are testimony of how hard it was to walk up those beautiful mountains in 35C but I kept going thinking that my suffering was nothing compared to what children have to suffer when affected by reckless wars! 

I thank you all for supporting the work that War Child does with children. I met some of the staff that work directly with the children in Jordan and heard stories of how traumatised some of these children are!

This September, I will be trekking with another 24 A&O and War Child staff from around the world across Jordan’s beautiful mountainous landscapes. Led by a local Bedouin guide, the trek starts in the beautiful Dana Reserve and crosses the four biosphere climates of Jordan's largest nature reserve, finishing in the ancient 'Rose-Red City' of Petra.

The four day trek starts on the 14th September (my birthday!), meaning the temperature will be extremely hot adding to the already challenging conditions of this 60km route across the mountainous desert.

The money raised from the trek will go directly to support War Child's programs that provide protection, education and livelihood support for the most marginalised children who have been affected by conflict.
