Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Those of you who know me know that unless cornered like a rat in a trap I have successfully avoided running anywhere, ever. And this despite being a soldier for nearly 20 years.
However, the death of my wonderful daughter Issy in January 2014 has spurred me to raise money and awareness for the charity who tried so hard to save her life. Issy was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in September 2012 and in December of the same year received a bone marrow transplant from a donor found by the Anthony Nolan Trust. This transplant tragically only gave her an extra year but she didn't waste a single day of it.
In a moment of sobriety I agreed to join Issy's mum Laura in running the London Marathon. In doing so we hope that we can help others who are in a similar situation to Issy and give them the future that she was so cruelly denied.
