My children always ask me when we are in town how vulnerable the homeless are? They always question how do they survive? Where do they get their food from? What do they do in the freezing cold?

When I saw the As Suffa poster I thought this is my chance to do something.

It is charities like As Suffa that provide hot meals and a roof over their heads in the freezing weather.

If by me taking part in this run allows me and you to raise some funds for the homeless it will go a long way. We as a community need to get behind these causes and try our best to give the homeless a chance in life. If we do not do anything ourselves how can we expect other's to do so. This has to be a team effort.

From those who know me I have never ran or been big on exercise

The reality for many in Birmingham is that homelessness and poverty are on the increase and it is only with your generous donations that As-Suffa Outreach can continue the services we have been providing for 6 years.

Every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday for the past 6 years we have provided over 100 hotmeals for the Homeless people in Birmingham. Based on Lional Street by Snowhill Station we serve people in our community with a smile. Additionally we provide services such as Foodbank, Legal Support, Mental Health, Guns and Knife, New Roots and Youth Groups to help improve impoverished lives.
