I'm running this race because I love to run - but a few years ago I needed crutches just to stand, and was even in a wheelchair for the last few months of my fourth pregnancy.
Prof Quenby's support for our family made a huge difference in helping to plan and provide a safe and calm labour for our son, and her research into the causes of recurrent miscarriage will reach even further into changing the lives of countless families.
I'll run this race because I love the freedom and joy of running, and I don't think I would treasure that liberty with such energy if I hadn't briefly experienced what it is to be unable to move with strength and confidence - I'm running for love of it, and so initially I didn't want to ask anyone to sponsor me to do something which I passionately enjoy anyway! But when I discovered that some of my running team mates were raising money for Prof Quenby and her research, I jumped at the chance to give my friends and family the opportunity to donate in support of her work.
