Story
ln 2006 Keith Knight was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Last year he was advised to have an operation to reduce its size before it started to cause him problems. As for anyone facing a major operation this was an extremely worrying and stressful time for him, his family & friends.
Following the operaton it became apparent that the hospital was able to offer very little in the way of support to people like him who had undergone brain surgery. He recalled having read an article in the press about a charity which had been established for the purpose of, amongst other things, providing exactly what Keith had found was lacking in the NHS. The charity was called Brainstrust. On contacting them he was immediately impressed with the extent of their specialist knowledge and the advice they were able to offer. Most importantly though he found exactly the level of support he had been looking for. Brainstrust also helped Keith to cope with the daunting prospect of having a long course of radiotherapy.
When his treatment was over, Keith decided that he wanted to give something back to Brainstrust for all of their help and support. We decided that the best way to do this was to raise as much money as possible to allow them to continue their excellent work.
On 27th June 2010, we will set out from Killarney in the county of Kerry in Ireland and try to cycle 450 miles around the south west coastline. We aim to complete the route within 6 days and would be delighted if you could support us by donating as much as you can afford.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Brainstrust and ensure that Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation from a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. When you have a moment please click on the link below which will take you to the Brainstrust website where you can read about the excellent work they do for so many people.
Many thanks for all your support
