On the 1st December 2015 I realised just how important charities like Wiltshire Air Ambulance were.
My little but not so little brother was on his way to start a new job, travelling on a motorbike. Just 5 minutes into his journey he had a serious accident with a car, which resulted in him being seriously injured. Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended the scene and got Harry to Southampton general hospital within 12 minutes and gave him the life saving treatment he desperately needed on the roadside. Without them, things would be very different today.
As well as the care he received on the day, they took the time to visit Harry in hospital, whilst there they talked Harry and my parents through what they had done to assist him. This was a great comfort to Harry as he didn't have much recollection of that day.
My family and I can't put into words just how much this charity means to us.
Last year I took part in a half marathon to raise money for them, and this year I've decided to walk the Great Wall of China. They're a priceless charity that runs solely on donations, it costs £8904 a day to keep the Air Ambulance in the air.
I will be paying the cost of the trip myself, and would love to match what I made for the half marathon last year
I know there's always lots of great causes for which people are asking for money, but anything you can spare would be massively appreciated and go a very long way.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my page.
