Story
In a remote Zambian village in Chongwe district there is a clinic that stands in the scrublands and serves over 2,600 people of all ages that come from miles around.
It has only one Nurse, 5 beds and not enough electricity to run a fridge! The clinic needs equipment as basic as baby's cots, sterilization units and an incinerator.
In partnership with ABESU and endorsed by the Zambian health ministry we have decided to leave our full time jobs and volunteer in the clinic and surrounding area for three months from January 2014.
We will be teaching a first responder course to local community volunteers, sourcing vital equipment, supporting the Nurse and kick starting a vaccination programme.
