Ramadan,a blessed time of the year that unites Muslims from all across the world is a time where we appreciate all the blessing that have been bestowed upon us that we may take for granted.

Many of us are lucky enough and considered privileged as at the end of a day of fasting, we come together with our beloved family and friends and enjoy a feast, every night of the month.

However, our brothers and sisters in disadvantaged countries like Palestine have been stripped away from this blessing many of us take for granted. 1.6 million Palestinians don’t have enough to eat, and poverty and food insecurity make observing Ramadan increasingly difficult. A month which is supposed to filled with peace, happiness and prayer is in actual fact filled with hardship, suffering and struggle.

In this month of unity and prosperity, let’s all unite and donate as much as we can to help our ummah. Let us all unite and provide food, warmth and shelter to our innocent brothers and sisters. Not only is this our responsibility as Muslims but our reward we receive will be multiplied.

A Hadith states “Truly Allah does reward the charitable”
