Story

On August 10 2013 I had a climbing accident at Millstone Edge in the Peak District.  Unfortunately I made it on to the front page of the York Press with the headline 'York climber in Peak District Fall Horror' - it wasn't the way I wanted to become well known! I had a compound fracture of my right leg and shattered the left leg just above the ankle and I was in agony. The Edale Mountain Rescue Team were called and it was thanks to them that I am now on the road to recovery.  I had to have a further operation to fit external fixators to both legs.  Through all of this my friends and family have been fantastic!  I was in training for the York marathon and I am now doing it on a handbike to raise money for Edale Rescue Team.

About the charity
