Two Birds volunteers are travelling to Mexico, to offer their time and love to enrich the children of the RISE and their partner organisation. 

The RISE is refuge for children who have been abandoned, abused or orphaned. Many have traumatic pasts and suffer disabilities, social and behavioural difficulties, meaning they need more support than other children. 

The RISE cannot afford staffing to provide this, and so, throughout the Summer holidays, Two Birds team flies in to offer a range of wellbeing enhancing activities.  

This help is always tailored to the needs of the children, and extensive research is conducted to monitor our impact at all times.

 

We are focussed on improving the childrens health, wellbeing and future opportunities. This is achieved by working in close connection with the staff to provide positive role models, trusting relationships and a range of activities. Trips out, sports camps, and the regeneration of run-down areas in the RISE would not have been possible without volunteers.   

In addition the Two Birds project provides some small funds towards health-care, one-to-one support for disabled children and the basic needs (Clothing, education, food). 

 

Volunteers make a commitment to the training programme, designed to prepare them with insight into the true issues with cultural living and working for international organisations.
