Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I spent my summer vacation cycling 970 miles from John o'Groats to Lands End. Constantly we were asked if we were doing it for a good cause, each occasion was met with a reluctant (and slightly embarrassed) "No, just for fun". Having raised money in aid of a couple of events earlier in the summer, I didn't feel I could ask my friends and colleagues to venture into their pockets again. Now as we creep into Autumn, my mindset has changed. Please help me make up for the missed fundraising opportunity of JOGLE and donate towards our Palace to Palace efforts. The ride is a 45 mile route from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle, while will involve around 300 Accenture riders aiming to raise in excess of £60,000 for the Prince's Trust.
The Prince's Trust supports 13 to 30 years old who are unemployed or struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Around one in five young people in the UK are not in work, education or training. Youth unemployment costs the UK economy £10 million a day in lost productivity, while youth crime costs £1 billion every year. Many of the young people they help are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or have been in trouble with the law.
Their programmes give young people the practical and financial support they need to stabilise their lives. They help develop key skills, confidence and motivation, enabling young people to move into work, education or training.
