Thames Path Challenge 2014 · 13 September 2014 to 14 September 2014 ·

We provide emotional and practical support to families with a seriously ill child.

Story

As many of you will know, I'm not very good at staying upright. So imagine the prospect of me walking, non-stop, for 24 hours. Will my weak ankles, shoddy tendons and general lack of balance get me through to the end?

I'm going to be doing the Thames Path Challenge on September 13th. It's a 100km trek from Putney to Henley that should take around 24 hours providing I don't fall into the Thames or get eaten by a horse.

It's for a really worth cause - Rainbow Trust, a children's charity which provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life threatening illness. Some of you may remember I completed The Nuts Challenge last year to raise money for them. This time around I hopefully wont get as muddy but I will be taking bets on:

- how many loo stops I need

- how many neolithic / Roman / medieval sites I decide I've discovered

- how many times I accidentally come into contact with an electric fence

- the number of bee/wasp/nettle stings I end up with

- how many Tracker bars I get through

- how many blisters I acquire and their precise locations

Place your bets now.
