Event: North Staffs Special Adventure Playground - Snowdon 2011, on 29 May 2011

Story

So...last year I dangled 150ft from a cliff in a sponsored abseil, this year I'm going to be climbing 3560ft up Mount Snowdon, North Wales, to raise money for the North Staffs Special Adventure Playground. The hike will be taking place on Sunday 29th May 2011 and I will be one of a team of people following the Llanberis Path up and down Snowdon, a round trip of 9 miles.

The Playground, based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, provides play and recreational facilties for disabled children and young people and it currently costs us well over £200 000 a year to run our service. In addition, we will be embarking on expansion plans in the very near future so every penny raised by this event really does count.

Last year we raised £6500 with our abseil, this year we are hoping to exceed this amount with our climb of Snowdon. This is also my 21st year of involvement with the Playground, so on a personal level it would be fantastic to make this event a huge success.

Thank you for your kind support.

Hannah
