Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is John Duncan - 30 years old, I work as a Research Scientist in Coventry, I am originally from Huddersfield in Yorkshire and I'm a pie-loving biker!
Hair means so much to so many people. I've had everything from shoulder length hair, to skin heads, to mohawks, to unkempt student bed-hair. The loss of your hair is often the most visible sign of your cancer treatment and it can be a painfull loss to bear. That is why on January 1st 2014 I will be shaving my head and face to turn this hairy biker into a hairless biker as a sign of solidarity. No tweezers/clippers/scissors will go near me until December 31st 2014.
People usually cut their hair off to raise money but I have decided to grow it as this will be a big challenge for me! In time the hair and beard will need washing & grooming to keep everything looking nice and tidy - something I do not do on a regular basis.
If you want to offer suggestions for hairstyles or colouring during this year of relentless folical-growth please donate your ideas as well as whatever you can gift (as long as it involves no trimming). I will be taking photos along the way of my hair-ventures so you can see what its up to.
