Having heard Mr Martin Stewart from the RNLI speak at last term's  form 5 chapel service and then chatting to him afterwards I was staggered by the number of lives saved by VOLUNTEERS from the RNLI every year. Many of you take advantage of the RNLI through holidaying in Cornwall, boating on the Thames, windsurfing, or being stranded in floods!! The RNLI provides an on-call 24 hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland. It's flood rescue service has been in huge demand over the recent years, two years ago in Surrey!

The RNLI receive no UK government funding, so rely completely on charity donations.

We can make a difference and help save lives.
