Absolutley brutal race. Came 10th in 53 Hours 17 minutes. 91 started with 2/3 field unable to complete day 1. Hoping to regrow some skin on my feet soon. Greg Crowley is running the Dragon’s Back Race starting on Monday September 3. He is raising money for Derby Mountain Rescue Team. The Dragon’s Back Race is a 200 mile race across Wales starting at Conwy Castle in the north and finishing at Carreg Cennen Castle in the south. It is staged over five consecutive days and covers all the major mountains in Wales with a total ascent of 45, 000ft (about one and a half times the height of Everest). Greg Crowley has been a member of Derby Mountain Rescue Team for 17 years and is currently the team’s medical officer. The team is a voluntary emergency service which attends callouts in response to requests from the Police. The team is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and consists entirely of unpaid volunteers. The team relies totally on donations from the public.
