Story
At the end of April I'm embarking on a 3 month volunteering project with Restless Development.
I will be working alongside Zambian volunteers to deliver Financial Literacy and Sexual & Reproductive Health workshops to student teachers in a college in Kabwe, Zambia.
I'm also a team leader, so I will also be supporting the other volunteers! It's going to be an amazing and challenging experience :-)
About Restless Development...
Restless Development is the leading global Youth-Led Development Agency, whose mission is to place young people at the forefront of change and development. It has been implementing sustainable international development projects for over 20 years.
Some facts about Zambia...
- In Zambia 65% of the population are young people. Financial literacy is an important way of enabling young people (especially young women!) to have the freedom to make choices of their own.
- In Zambia, 2% of HIV related deaths are amongst teachers. The aim of the SRH workshops is to reduce this rate and build the capacity of student teachers to pass this information on to their classes once they start teaching.
- 73 languages are spoken in Zambia! How many do you think I can learn?!
Follow my experiences...
I will try to keep you updated as often as possible about my experiences on my blog here: http://www.entergraceland.blogspot.co.uk/
Thank you for your support!
Love, peace and happiness
