Story
Hello there you gorgeous lot, you!
So myself and Claire, a friend from Univeristy are running the Bath Half in 2014 in the hopes that we can raise as much money as possible for the charities we're running for and gain the satisfaction of crossing that finish line without passing out first! Eep.
When it came to choosing a charity there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to run for Hammer Out. It is a charity that is based in my hometown and one that I have grown up with, seeing the efforts many have put in over the years to help patients suffering from brain tumours and their families.
Over ten years ago I was well aquainted with the great man who this charity was set up in memory of: Paul Mitchell. He was a fine man and someone who I will never forget. When I was ten, I gave him a paper mache egg that I decorated at Brownies for him to take to hospital but now, eleven years later I want to give him a greater gift and run in his memory. More than that, I want to run for all those people out there who are suffering from this terrible condition in the hope that every penny will go to making their lives easier.
In life, I believe it's important that we give back and so, if you could spare however much you can to support this incredibly worthy cause I'd be very greatful. Make those future months of my running in the bitter cold and rain worthwhile ... ;) You can even bid anonymously if you so wish, although I'll be sure to thank each and one of you personally wen you donate.
Also - keep checking back here! In the coming months I'm going to be posting regular updates on how all is going as Claire and I train in Whitney and Bath. :)
All my love,
Grace
