I was very lucky to get a place in this years London Marathon through the ballot, after more than 10 years of trying! 

As much as I have always wanted to run the marathon, I am no runner and know that the training is going to be tough and a huge commitment. I have chosen to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. A brilliant charity which funds research into this awful disease, as well as providing care to patients fighting the disease. 

As most of you will know; my beautiful, caring and vibrant mother-in-law Jacqui passed away 5 years ago from breast cancer, and several other close family members and family friends have also suffered from this disease, which will affect 1 in 7 women in the UK . 

I would be grateful for any donations for this charity which helps so many.
