Story

Read my blog: http://beastingblog.blogspot.co.uk/

I am doing an Ironman triathlon in September

I will have to work very hard to get there

I will have to work very hard when I get there

I am doing it for a good charity

Donate money.

Long version:

I have previously undertaken 2 half ironman distance triathlons and live to tell the tale but I have always had my sights set on this. This is going to be an incredible challenge for me as I will need to balance training with family (including one toddler and one en route, due April), volunteering for the Air Cadets and work.

I need to lose weight (again\still) get training hours in andthat will get me to the start line.

After that it will be the biggest physical challenge of my life. I'm aiming for a sub 12 hour finish. The half ironman which I undertook as a stepping stone last year went a bit wrong due to back issues and my 5:45 target fell apart on the run giving me a 6:30ish finish.

2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle, then a marathon.

Macmillan was my charity of choice for several reasons. I have lost my Godmother to cancer and had several cancer ridden aquaintences supported by Macmillan. My wife has recently been working on one of their projects (@teamupmacmillan) and I have been really impressed with them as a Charity. I have no qualms in raising money for them. Please give generously.
