Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
So whilst recovering from the Leeds to Paris cycle this new challenge was born. The 3 peaks is a well known and respected challenge... Walk up and down the 3 highest peaks in the UK (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon). This is feat in itself but ever the ambitious it was decided to bring the bikes again and cycle between the peaks over 6 days.
So day 1 Ben Nevis, Day 2 cycle 104 miles, Day 3 cycle 100 miles, Day 4 cycle 60 miles then Scafell Pike, Day 5 cycle 120 miles, Day 6 cycle 80 miles then Snowdon. That's all there is to it....!!!
There will be a few new faces joining us this year to take on the peaks and the mammoth journey.
Steve Cardwell (Gen power MD) will be navigating and heading up the challenge, and is relishing the fact to use his mountaineering knowledge. Simon Fergusson (Gen Power) will be getting out the spandex in readiness for the cycle, hopefully wearing something suitable for the walk. Jeremy Rebbeck (Natwest) will be dusting off the "colonel" and adding more gears for the hills this year, as speed is not your friend on the uphill climb. Gary Drummond (adrenaline junkie) joins the team this year, Gary's mountaineering and mountain biking should help him keep up. Ben Shackleton (GP) Ben is the latest edition to the team, a newcomer to road cycling but young and very keen. Michael Yeadon (Gen Power me!) will be the support crew again, on hand with sudacream and bottles of "powerade" for the team. We're hoping many people will join us for the walks to give support for those cycling.
So dig deep for this challenge and a great cause again and help us break the £7,335.00 we raised last year.
