Story
On August 29th, I'll be swimming 2 miles in the icy depths of Loch Lomond (hopefully)!
It'll be cold. It'll be hard. It'll be tiring.
But we live in times where just getting help for mental health issues is hard, and getting harder. Where funding is being cut to services, where folk face losing their homes because of benefit changes, and where just finding the help you need is tiring.
Mental health carries a stigma, even in a day and age where one if four people in Scotland will be affected by mental health issues in any one year.
The Scottish Association for Mental Health is working with, and for, the One in Four and their families and friends. They run suicide prevention services, community based services and advocate at a policy level. Each day, they support 3,000 people across Scotland.
