Story
I'm lucky enough to have a job, a roof over my head, food on the table, and people around that care about me. At any moment, for any reason, life can go tits up and you can end up on the streets. This shouldn't happen in 21st century Britain, but it does. A good friend of mine works tirelessly with a bunch of great people in Manchester to provide support for Manchester's homeless. Persuaded by this said good friend, I have decided to run further than I've ever run before and entered the Manchester half marathon. The furthest I've officially run is 5km and that was whilst bouncing off inflatables and being covered in foam so even that probably doesn't count. This is a 'serious' race raising money for a serious charity and I'd love it if you can support both myself and the fantastic Big Change Manchester in making a donation. More information about the Big Change below and here: https://streetsupport.net/manchester/bigchangemcr/
The Big Change Manchester is a group of Manchester charities, organisations and voluntary sector agencies providing services for homeless people who have come together to tackle homelessness in the city. The Big Change is working together to provide sustainable, long-term solutions to homelessness.
Money donated to the Big Change campaign fund and will provide homeless people with the practical items they need to build new lives off the streets. This can include help with furnishing a new flat, purchasing crockery, pots and pans and bed linen, and travel to new accommodation. As people are coming off the streets need money urgently, there won't be a lengthy application process and funds can be issued almost immidiately by accredited memebers of homeless organisations.
