Thames Path Challenge 2014 · 13 September 2014 ·

We provide emotional and practical support to families with a seriously ill child.

Story

On September 13th and 14th, I'll be walking 100km from London Bridge to Henley with colleagues and friends from Blue Rubicon to raise money for Rainbow Trust, a charity providing emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.

Sponsoring me as little or as much as you like will make a huge difference to families who are going through often unimaginable heartache:

  • £9 will give a child with special needs the time to play with a sensory touch toy and have fun.
  • £10 will pay for a Family Support Worker to visit a sick child in hospital giving an exhausted mum and devoted dad some time to themselves.
  • £18 will give brothers and sisters valuable time with a Family Support Worker to help them talk through their worries and anxieties.
  • £25 will help run one of our new drop-in centres, giving families time together so they can talk openly and support each other through their children’s illnesses.
  • £30 will give a dying child the time to create memory boxes of cherished keepsakes for family and friends.
  • £50 will pay for a Family Support Worker to give families time together away from the exhausting hospital check-ups and tests.
  • £100 will help give 24 hour support to a family whose child is receiving palliative care
