Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We know that donating money to The Macmillan Cancer Support charity can't ever bring our mother back, but it can help others with cancer and that, in a way, helps us to cope with our grief.
Cancer took our father, Joe Denning, from us in 1977 and now it has returned to take our mother, Frances. Mum died in April 2011 of esophageal cancer. She was diagnosed in the January. The Macmillan nurses were there to support her but it was so quick, so traumatic and we still miss her very much.
Every time the phone rings we think it'll be her. We want to tell her about things that we're doing, what's happening with our kids, talk about the TV programmes we're watching... but we can't. How can life ever return to normal without mum?
If you've arrived here from our virtual World's Greatest Coffee Morning then feel free to return and continue with the fun once you have donated. If not then do please join us at Rosalind Adam is Writing in the Rain. The party will continue for the whole weekend of 29th September to 3rd October and remember that every penny you donate here goes directly to the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
A message from Macmillan: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - We raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you.
