Story
On Sunday 15th May Daniel Lumer and Steve Daniels will be departing from London as part of a 12 man team to travel to Romania, through France, Germany, Austria, and Hungary in aid of Sense International. This will be done via 6 cars with two drivers per car. Each car with have a sport theme to attract publicity, the cars will be decorated in the theme, and the drivers will wear appropriate sport outfits.
With just £500 to spend on a car to complete the 1600 mile journey it should be an interesting journey.
We will be traveling in the football themed car, decorated with a variety of logos from sponsors who are helping us achieve our goal of delivering much needed aid to deafblind children in Romania.
The charity we are supporting is Sense International which is a UK charity committed to providing help to deafblind children in poorer countries such as India, Kenya, Tanzania, Romania, Bangladesh and Peru. Sense early intervention centres provide early diagnosis of unborn children that may have sight and/or hearing disabilities, they support young newborn children with deafblindness by providing a learning and communication environment at their centres, and also help older teenage children achieve academic qualifications
This gives the children a start in life that otherwise they would be unlikely to receive, and an opportunity to develop, explore and be part of the world outside, a world that otherwise would be closed off to them.
Currently only 3% of deafblind children in Romania are receiving this support, we want to raise as much money as we can to help increase this coverage and support as many children as possible.
Through your donation we can purchase the toys we will transport, and raise a cash donation to the charity when (if- fingers crossed) we make it to Bucharest.
Please support us in this unique event which is self-funded by all the participants, this ensures that all your donation goes directly towards helping a deafblind child.
Thanks for your support its really appreciated.
