So, yes, this really was my idea to get 100 people behind me firewalking for Cancer Research! Come on, you guys know me! It's different, pretty crazy and I can't wait to smell all that smouldering flesh - whilst grinning like a Cheshire cat thanks to the amount of money we'll hand over to Cancer Research. Plus, there was a competition for which team could do the best...

Firewalking is the act of walking barefoot over a bed of hot wooden coals. A combination of pine, ash and oak is burnt and then broken down into a smooth red hot path of embers. The lane itself is between 15-20ft long and 2-3ft wide. During the course of the burn down the temperature of the fire reaches over 1236° Fahrenheit and when it comes time to walk on the coals the fire lane will be burning at a core temperature of over 400-600° degrees Fahrenheit.

The walk will take place at about 16:30 on Weds 5th December in Welwyn. Do come along to see the ashes rise!

All the money raised from the Firewalk will be donated to Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research.
