My name is Fiona. I am a 32 year old wife and mother of two young boys.

I was first diagnosed with leukaemia when I was just six years old. SInce then I have undergone three further diagnosis/relapses. I have had intensive chemotherapy, radiotherapy, 'maintenance treatment', an autologous bone marrow transplant and lost my hair twice.

A large portion of this occured between the ages of 14 and 30. This is the age requirement for a holiday at the Youth Cancer Trust house in Bournemouth.

One week for eight young people at the house costs in the region of £4000.00. There is no cost to the patient even travel can be subsidised where necessary.

I have been lucky enough to stay at the house on more than one occassion. And before we were married my husband and I visited the house to see Brenda and Jim. We were invited to the evening barbecue and taken for a ride by members of the local porsche club who were visiting that afternoon.

In return for the fantastic hospitality and generosity shown by the team at YCT I would like to raise the money for more young people like me to enjoy a week at the house.
