Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Leeds RAG is the official fundraising body of Leeds University Union. It is a student led, student-orientated society, ran throughout the academic year for over 1000 members, by an eighteen person committee. This year I have held the position as one of the Events Managers and it has undoubtedly been the best part of my university experience. Leeds RAG is completely transparent and honest in its finances and all money fundraised will be going directly to the charity, none towards expenses.
I decided to diversify my fundraising efforts by partaking in one of the endurance challenges offered by the society. Despite not being the most keen cyclist you'll have ever met, I relish a challenge, and the charity, Save the Children is a brilliant cause.
Save the Children promotes children's rights, provides relief, and helps to support children in developing countries. Currently every year more than 1 million babies die within their first 24 hours of life. Half of these deaths could be avoided if the mother and baby were given free healthcare and a skilled midwife. Three out of ten women worldwide have to give birth without a midwife; that's 40 million women every single year. Save the Children wants to stop this.
