Story

Carl and John are running the London Marathon in support of Grace's Wish to raise funds for Martin House Children's Hospice and raise awareness of Niemann Pick Type C.  NPC took the life of our beautiful son Harry aged just 7 years of age, in 2010.  Grace continues to battle this illness and is now an amazing 10 years of age.  Martin House have supported us on our journey with this devasting disease from the day we had the diagnosis.  They provide respite for 350 families across the region and it is a home from home, a happy place where we can relax, recharge our batteries and face the day to day struggles that living with a child who has a life limiting illness brings.  They also have a "time for us" group where siblings are supported and can meet other children who have poorly siblings, Emily has made lots of lifelong friends.  They provide a bereavement service so that families are not alone in their darkest days.  When Harry passed away, Louise from Martin House held our hands and guided us through those awful days when we were lost in grief.  I can't tell you how much they lifted us up and helped us to celebrate Harry's life, and allowed us to make choices that we never thought we would be able to do.  They continue to support us on our journey, please support them in anyway your can.
