Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
September this year, after just having a great family holiday my dad took ill. He had collapsed at home and found himself feeling 'weak'.
After going to the Hospital and seeing several Doctors and having some tests, my father was diagnosed with having a brain tumour. It was approximately 1.5 - 2 cm in size but the Doctors knew straight away that it was inoperable.
over the next few weeks, more tests were done, he had a Biopsy, gave more blood etc and was given the final result of it being Grade 4 cancer.
The only time I witnessed our dad get upset was when he talked about us (My mum, my brothers and his Grandkids) being upset and not coping with it....Other than that he continued to be the rock that he has always been.
He started Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy late October for 6 weeks. The steroids are having obvious effects and within the week he is in now the side effects to Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy are taking hold on him - other than this - he is still very positive about everything and still insists on having any treatment available to him.
My younger brother and I - have not only witnessed what Macmillan have done for my dad, but what they have also done for our mum too... This is why we have decided to partake in a MMA event in March 2012 and donate our stake in any tickets sold. We decided to open this page as there maybe others who wish to donate but not go to the event.
