'As some of you may or may not know, many of us have decided in the last couple of years to grow our hair to donate it and fundraise money for The Little Princess Trust.

We only have to donate a minimum of 7 inches of our hair but some of us have chosen to have a lot more cut off.

We get a lot of comments "why are you cutting your hair? It's so lovely and long though?" "Don't cut it" "such a shame you are cutting your hair".....we don't think this. We are all very proud of the charity hair cut, our hair will grow back and the exceptional work that this charity does for children who have strength beyond all of us to keep fighting their illness is inspirational. Our hair is the least we can do, we know this isn't much to us....to some children suffering it can mean the world.

Please give as little or as much as you would like to, every penny counts. The real hair wigs the charity provide are free to the children they help. If they supply a wig made from hair donated by people like us, then this wig costs the charity very little and sometimes absolutely nothing. If a suitable donated-hair wig cannot be sourced, then they buy in the most appropriate wig for the boy or girl in question, as close as possible to their original hair. The cost to the charity to purchase one wig is on average between £350-£500. Therefore as well as donating our hair, we aim to raise £700 In order to pay for two wigs.'

Our lovely Liz has been hard at work recruiting many of us to donate our hair, and organising a fundraiser to raise money for the Little Princess Trust. This will take place on the 27th of August in Old Penarthians RFC and the evening will include a raffle and opportunities to donate as much or as little as you can. Everyone is welcome and if you want to get involved in donating your hair please get in touch! I will personally be donating 12+ inches however the minimum amount is 7 inches. Any one who knows of any hair salons who would be able to provide free hair cuts for the donations, or anyone who can help out with donating raffle prizes or entertainment for the night would be greatly appreciated. 💕
