I am part of the core cycle team that is cycling 500 miles in 5 days - with the remaining 500 being completed by the residents, friends, and families of Inspired Villages.

Previously, I was a keen triathlete and cyclist. Following a severe injury to my spine my whole lifestyle had to change.  This was not easy to say the least and took a heavy toll on my mental wellbeing having been so active throughout my life. It meant I had to adjust my activities and find a balance between keeping fit mentally as well as physically. I do miss all the events and races I participated in but I am on a journey to find new ways to keep me active.

Choosing MIND as a charity was very personal as it is something that is so close to home as not only has it had an effect personally but also within my family. 

This is why it is so important to donate to MIND as the work they do in trying to manage mental health and wellbeing goes such a long way.  Whilst it may not be apparent, there is always someone out there fighting a personal battle with their demons.
