Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Doing this crazy cycling tour for the second time and would like now to support the Wichí community in the north of Argentina. The group self-denomination is Weehayek Wichí, which means "different people". These indigeneous people live well below the poverty line. The Wichís traditionally are semi-nomadic and live from hunting, agriculture and fishing (they are basically hunter-gatherers). Since the beginning of the 20th their land has been seized and expropiated by outsiders. The Wichís have struggled for many years to get legal titles and the land they traditionally own. Their situation worsened a great deal after the 1999/2002 recession, reducing their relative self-sufficiency.

A bit of history on 500 years of indigeneous resistance here:

Although this community is not the same as the Guaranís, they suffered equally the same since the Spanish colonisation. Remember the film the Mission?

In their support I plan to colonise Europe in a pacific way. This time arround I plan to cover 1600km, starting in Rome and finishing in Barcelona. I promise I will enjoy my ride a lot even when it is painful, boiling hot and the mind keeps on telling to stop. I am trying to raise £1600, £1 per km. I am sure we can doing it together.

I will be thinking of all of you and the people we are helping together! I cannot wait to do it, so excited. I promise to arrive at destination with no physical injuries. For this reason, I bought a  SatNav for bikes that will take me only through cycling routes.

Donare tramite JustGiving e' molto semplice, veloce e totalmente sicuro.
